Everything is coming together for this year's event. Remember we have moved the date this year to the first weekend in November. This date has been set since last December. We are working on some additional workshops this year for Friday and Saturday. We may have to use the Dudley Center for the entire weekend this year as the Winston Salem church building is too small to accomodate 150 or more people and we are expecting record crowds again this year.

The schedule is confirmed. We are offering some additional workshops this year, including song leading workshops on Friday afternoon, and a new workshop this year on improving our singing Saturday morning. We are putting the finishing touches on this year's flyer which will be mailed out next week.

We are finalizing the plans for this year's event. We hope to expand the song leading workshops, and offer a new workshop on improving our singing which will be open to everyone. Flyers and final schedule will be available by Sept. 1.

The 2005 recording is now available. I apologize for the delay to those that have been waiting. But due to several circumstances, it just took a couple of months. However, the recording (again) turned out great. Much thanks to Joel Barnett for his work and efforts in putting this recording together. You can order a copy from the recording page.

The Sunday night after 1000 Voices is always a challenge to face, as all my friends and Christian family have returned to their respective homes. However, it's easy to get through the week after a weekend surrounded by such wonderful people. Thanks again for all your love, support and dedication to God. Throughout this week, I'll be updating the site with information on next year's event, a request for feedback on this year's event, and information on the recordings.

We have reserved a block of 30 rooms at the Dudley Center, and some additional rooms at the Sleep Inn and Holiday Inn Express.

Date is set for this year's event - Oct. 28 & 29. We will be using the same location as this past year - The Dudley Inn and Conference Center.

CD recording is complete, and we shipped the first shipments this week.

Joel Barnet is still working on the Saturday recording (mixing\filtering, etc...) I have been working on the details of burning CDs, creating covers, purchasing cases, shipping material, etc... I think everyone that came wants at least one copy. I will start taking orders later this week, and should start shipping around Thanksgiving. Thanks for your patience.

The Friday night recording turned out great. I will be reviewing the Saturday night recording tonight (wednesday), as Joel Barnett is working on filtering out noise and trying to create a quality CD. We will start taking orders for CDs on Friday of this week (Nov 5th). We will take orders on the web site, or you will be able to mail in your order. Instead of charging for the CD's we are going to offer them for those making a donation to 1000 Voices. The suggested donation amount will be $15. The expenses this year ran nearly $5500. We were VERY blessed to received nearly $3300 in donations. To help offset this difference the proceeds from CDs will go toward these expenses.

Another great year! I believe it was the best event we have had. I had a LOT of great help this year, and they all deserve a huge amount of thanks. Thanks to Robert Petty and Glenda Schales for their wonderful job of teaching and preparing material for the workshops. Thanks to Jay Conner, Michael Stringer, Scott Wyatt, Joel Sloan, and Adam Joiner for their services over the weekend. They all did a wonderful job.

A special thanks to Jeff and Melanie Young for always supporting me, and constantly encouraging me in my spiritual walk. Two very special people who have changed my life over the past 4 years.

I had some wonderful servants helping out over the weekend, and I'm indebted to them for their willingness to help in every way. Thanks to Burt & Crystal Rogers, Julie Patton, Nathan Gann, Adam & Heather Joiner, and my parents (James & Katherine Blankenship) for doing whatever it was that needed to be done. You guys are awesome!!! Thanks to Phil Whitehead for all his support, suggestions, and advice.

Thanks to the teenagers from the Winston-Salem church of Christ for helping with the registration table and water including: Meg Garner, Chelsea Meadows, Kristen Walker, Matthew Walker, Winston Young, and Kara Whiting.

Joel Barnett and Brian Baird - you guys rock. Thanks for all the A/V work you guys did. I couldn't pay someone to do a better job. Thanks to Carl Bradley & Paul Ayers for providing their technical expertise.

Thanks to all the guys that read scriptures and led in prayer. Thanks to all the love and support from my family of Christians in Winston-Salem, and those that opened their homes to complete strangers in some cases. Hey, look at it this way, I give you an excuse to give the house a good cleaning once a year.

Thanks to all of you who donated money. I appreciate your willingness to support me in this effort.

The Flyers and Brochures have been updated with all the new information. Note that we have moved the starting times for the workshops to 8:30AM Saturday morning. Doors will open at 8:00am and the workshops will begin at 8:30. Feel free to print out copies of the updated brochure and flyer

WOW!!! Some great and exciting news. The response has been really strong this year, and we have had to find another location for the workshops to accommodate everyone. In doing so we found another location that has both classrooms and an convention center. The Dudley Inn & Conference Center has classrooms, a convention center, we will not have to be concerned with other events going on at the same time (such as at the Benton Convention Center), and it is more convenient to the hotels we are working with this year. We will have the brochures and flyers updated and mailed out this week, or check back in a day or so to print them out yourself.

Due to Parent's weekend at Wake Forest University, many of the hotels in Winston-Salem are reluctant to hold rooms for 1000 Voices. However, we have worked with several nice hotels in Kernersville right off the interstate to reserve rooms for us. Make sure to mention 1000 Voices for the discount. accommodations.
